It is imperative that you review the characteristics of the system you intend to acquire before making a purchase. For instance, the processing speed, shared graphics memory, video card memory, and random access memory (RAM).

Do you intend to buy a new or used computer system (laptop or otherwise)? If so, this article is for you. In this article, I’ll outline the two approaches—the best and the easiest—to checking any system setup parameters before making a purchase.

This post is mostly intended for novices who are looking to purchase a new or used laptop for themselves but have little experience with computers.

It is imperative that you review the characteristics of the system you intend to acquire before making a purchase. Examples include the processor speed, RAM, HDD, video card memory, shared graphics memory, system model, graphics display, screen size, and other relevant factors.

As far as the system is concerned, there are two distinct video cards. Intel and AMD graphics displays are used.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) can be utilized for regular system operations as well as gaming systems, making it ideal for those operating game centers. The high heat output of AMD computers is one of its drawbacks. AMD systems must be maintained in a cool climate.

Depending on the amount of visual memory allotted, Intel Systems are good for corporations and occasionally also good for gaming.

1. On the system, click on the Windows Logo on the system keyboard or click the one on the screen as shown in the image below.

2. Search for About. On the pop-up, you will see “About your PC”, click on it, and it will open as the image below. Here you will see all the information about the system you plan to purchase. The memory, graphics display, the RAM, the HDD, and other information. See the image below

So, this is the simple way to check any system specifications before purchasing.

Use this method to view all the information about any system.

1. On the system keyboard, press the Windows logo and R together. This will open a “Run Box” as displayed in the image below.

2. On this Run Box, type in this code; dxdiag, and hit the enter key. Wait for it to open the complete system diagram called “DirectX”. This diagram will show you the complete System specifications, the display specifications, the sound specifications, the input specifications, and other specifications. See the image below.

These are the two ways you can check any system specifications before purchasing.
